Enough Already!

hate-winter-quotes-5

So, remember how lovely and positive I was in my last post about winter? Well, it’s like the universe heard me and decided to slap me around a bit!

It’s been cold here. Real cold.

Peter Kimbell, warning preparedness meteorologist with Environment Canada, said Monday that Ottawa’s current mean temperature for February is -16.3 C. That’s 8 degrees colder than the normal mean temperature for the month in Ottawa, which is -8.1 C.” — CTV news

And I’ve been sick for most of the last month. Real sick.

Both kids got sick as well. In fact, Stella had to stay home for 3 days from school. That is most number of days she has ever missed from school — ever. Max, on the other hand, took to vomiting while I was trying to do conference calls from home. It’s been a slice. Fabulous. Really.

Gee, thanks, winter. You can go now. Don’t let the door hit you on the way out.

P.S. Yes, that’s my whole post. Just one long whine. Feel free to add yours in the comments.

  1. this year we have earned the right to complain!

hope you feel better soon.. you’ve been sick too long!

  2. 2nd winter in a row! what’s going on. there will be no more records to break soon. The only lovely thing has been the beautiful frozen Niagara falls. I remember seeing pictures of the Falls frozen in the 1910’s and thinking that it must be a doctored photo. But nope! Mother nature in all its glory.

    Hope you’re feeling better soon.
The winter can’t last forever, even it if feels that way right now.

  3. Uuuuuuugh…I am totally on board with this. I feel like I was on top of it in January and February – feeling positive! Getting out there! Not letting winter get me down!

And now …pffffft. OVER. IT. GAH.

  4. Julie! I feel your pain! This weather has been beyond ridiculous and has really overstayed its welcome!!!
    Sigh!

  5. Ugh… I feel it too. And guess what… cold again today here in Montreal. I had a baby in October and I think this winter will be remembered as one black hole of staying inside all day, feeding, and staring out the frosty windows. Seriously winter… move on!!!!!

    • Oh, Michelle, I feel your pain. My hope is that you have a subscription to Netflix … Sitting on a couch, feeding, House of Cards, and a blankie doesn’t sound too bad. But you will be sooooo happy to get outside and stroll with your baby this spring!!
