This Package Made Me Cry.

package

I was working late, so I put a call into home to see how everyone was doing. My daughter’s first words were: “A huge package arrived!” (My son’s next words were: “Is it for me?”) I asked Stella to check the label and see who had sent it. When she told me it was from Posterjack, I too felt excited and couldn’t wait to get home!

Remember this family photo that I loved so much, taken by local photographer Sarah McCormack? I had told her that I loved it so much that perhaps I should have it blown up and mounted on an art canvas. Some of my girlfriends had done similar things in their home, with great results — including Sarah herself. She thought it was a fabulous idea, so I then asked her what company she had used and she was emphatic that she loved Posterjack.

So I told Sarah I would get in touch with this company. I imagined a really huge piece (since we have some really huge spaces in our home that could use some art). And then, of course, I let it drop to the bottom of my to-do list, like the house usually does. However, Sarah reminded me and gave me a little push (kick in the pants?!) to go and place the order. And I did.

The kids were really happy that I did. See how much fun it brought them?

But me? I wasn’t prepared for how emotional I would feel. As soon as I saw this art canvas, I gasped a little and then my eyes immediately began to well up. To see my own family captured so beautifully. Our home is full of art, but this … this is just so different.

art canvas from posterjack

This photo certainly doesn’t do it justice. But trust me, it’s gorgeously reproduced and stretched carefully onto a huge (32 x 48) canvas. I chose the largest canvas size available! The cost for this size canvas is $249, and Posterjack does not charge shipping on any orders over $150. So, all in all, this canvas is actually the same or less than what I would pay if I chose an art reproduction from a store like HomeSense. And definitely far less than I’d pay for original artwork like “My Bicycle.”

My next challenge is to select where to hang my new favourite piece of art! I can’t decide yet … but maybe hung in the spot shown in the photo above, with a small console table underneath? There is also a spot in the dining room that might work, and one in the tv room too … choices, choices! Or maybe our master bedroom …

Disclosure: I was provided with this product at no charge to me. Posterjack is a Canadian company and you can learn more about them here
