I have an Art Wall. Or is it a Gallery Wall? Whatever it’s Called, I Love It.

So, I think it’s about time I pull away from my melancholic haze and come back to some happy-happy-joy-joy. And one thing that is really making me happy these days is coming home to my art wall. An “art wall” or “gallery wall” is something I’ve been lusting after for ages (fellow lustees are welcome to drool at my Gallery Wall Pinterest board).

Gallery Wall @coffeewithJulie

Ignore the couch, coffee table, lamps, old trunk (yes, okay, that is everything in the room) … none of it is staying. But look at the gallery wall! Me so happy.

P.S. I want to organize the monstrosity that is our tupperware drawer. Tell me your secrets for this!

  1. I love it too. Art wall are fabulous – and so personal. It must do your heart good to look at your collection in one big swoop!

@andrea from the fishbowl Thanks Andrea! Yes, it’s really personal … Hubby and I have been collecting these pieces since our very early days before marriage.

    @coffeewithjulie I love those!

  4. Love it!! RT @coffeewithjulie I have an Art Wall. Or is it a Gallery Wall? Whatever it’s Called, I Love It. http://t.co/imMyfBS5

  5. Love it! Gallery wall or salon style, I believe :) and you have throw pillows!
Tupperware? No drawer, just one shelf and Rubbermaid set of 20 that fit in to each other and click together lids. Key is to have one brand so they can nest.

@GiuliaDoyle Yes, salon wall! That IS what the interior designer called it …. I had totally forgotten! You are such a savvy babycakes! :) Okay, on this tupperware front, how do you manage the lids? I don’t know what you mean by “click together lids.”

  6. We love doing clusters like that on our walls. Ours generally have themes. We have my husband’s “duck wall” (he has a thing for duck pictures, weird) in our dining room/office and a pen and ink sketch wall in our stairwell. And of course there is my monstrous Gone With The Wind gallery in our family room.

As for the tupperware: it is a lost battle. Give up now 😉 I’ve organized and reorganized mine so many times…it always gets messed up again once you put things back.

@pamperedbabyca Thanks for this RT! :)

  8. I love it! I’ve got three walls in the house that have photo clusters on them. I need more walls :) As for organizing tupperware, before you start terse cycle everything that doesn’t have a matching lid. I sort mine by size/shape, stacking the lids on their side between each stack

@SaraMPhoto Oh, I can only imagine how many photo clusters a photog like you must have! :) That is next on my list — I’m thinking a cluster of black and white photos! As for the tupperware … I’m tempted to just abandon the idea and leave them for yet another week.

  9. That’s really cool Julie. Trying to get that going at my new place. I find it difficult to get  good prints, so am thinking about printing my own stuff out and framing it. (The stuff I like is old, and no copyright.)

Hi Dan – I’m really enjoying it. Some people might find it busy or overwhelming, but for me, it’s so comforting and makes me happy! Have you ever tried finding prints on Etsy? I know a lot of people have good luck there, with some very interesting finds.

  10. I love this Julie! That centre picture is especially lovely. The tupperware thing makes me a little insane. No matter how often I organize them, it takes about four hours for them to be scattered all over the inside of the cupboard. I think I have tupperware poltergeists living in there!

@DaniGirl Thanks Dani! That one was a wedding gift :) As for tupperware, I managed to procrastinate yet another weekend and left it festering in its disaster state!

  11. it looks so amazing, one day i will have a gallery wall too!!

tupperware, i think i agree with everyone – it’s impossible. i have seen people use tupperware organizer thingys and it looked pretty good. but i think you need to be organized to use those … and well, i’m not. good luck!

  12. Good luck with the tupperware drawer – uggg!!!  I gave up, got rid of it all and bought only ziplock containers.  They all fit inside each other and come in a variety of shapes and sizes!  I don’t mix and match – it only adds to the piles!
Love your gallery wall.  I have a gallery staircase, but the wall at the top is empty….you have given me some inspiration!

    • Glad to hear the inspiration struck! I truly love the gallery wall more than anything else in my entire home! To me, it shouts “welcome home!” when I get in the door.
