Did you nominate me for a Canadian Weblog Award?

Did you nominate me for a Canadian Weblog Award? Oh wait … don’t answer that! I think that must of been when I threatened not to buy birthday presents for anyone in my family if they didn’t nominate me.

Well, regardless, I am really, super, incredibly, honking, excited to share some news with you: Coffee with Julie is shortlisted for the 2010 Canadian Weblog Awards! Shortlisted, my friends!!

I just found out last night and as soon as I did, I drafted up my resignation letter for my day job. But luckily I remembered before I pressed “send” that I don’t get paid to blog. (And let’s not tell hubby about hosting and domain name costs, okay? Our secret!) It’s purely a labour of love. Which makes it all the more meaningful that something that I LOVE to do has been recognized by readers and other bloggers. This space has come to mean so much to me and anytime someone tells me they read one of my posts, my heart does a little flutter. They read ME. They choose to spend their precious time reading MY words and hanging out with ME.  Man, that really makes me feel special. Thanks so much for that.

And I’m not the only one feeling special today, the Ottawa blogosphere really showed up strong in the shortlisting, including my bloggy buddies Andrea, DaniAnnie, Tanya, and kimusan. In addition, the two group blogs that I also write for received shortlistings too — Kids in the Capital and Life As A Human.

I’m really honoured with the company that I am now keeping in the shortlists! So, do check them out. Good reading ahead ….
