FIRST IMPRESSIONS

Danika was quite intrigued with this product. The cute face-like features really attracted her attention. It is very easy to hold especially for little fingers. She was able to use it independently right away and seemed to understand what to do on her own. However with a little guidance from me she seemed to enjoy it even more. We loved how it had a number of different responses even on the same pictures. She noticed this! It had a mixture of different activities that challenged and entertained her.

PERSONAL TOUCHES

I have to say whoever thought of this feature was brilliant!

Once I added the personal features to the TAG Jr. and it said “hi Danika” she really connected with the “little guy” as she called it. She just beamed when it said her name and it was a huge reward for her to use the toy. Even her big brother loved this feature.

ONGOING INTEREST

She played on and off with it for the rest of the night, and even at bedtime that is what we read and ensured she kissed and said goodnight to her new little friend who was perched in a place of honor on her dresser!

She is excited to try and get some new books, specifically Mr. Brown can Moo, since she saw it advertised on the back of the book in the package.

MY IMPRESSION AS A PARENT

The software was pretty quick and easy to install. The unit itself seems quite sturdy and very simple to operate. I will be interested to see how the addition of the new books will go, however, the leap frog site seems very easy to use.

I have registered for the learning plan and will try it out as I can.

DURABILITY

Durability of the books is top notch! They are all cardboard books so Danika loves to sit and read and flip through her book independently. Also the little guy is seemingly quite durable, having been dropped a number of times already. She is very curious about how it works and is often pushing the buttons and sticking her fingers into the bottom opening but it seems to withstand her abuse and keep on ticking!

NEGATIVE COMMENTS

My only negative comment is the pricing on the extra books. Although they are only a little more than buying the non-leap pad versions, it would be nice to be able to buy bundles of the books alone and save. Again it would be my only negative comment. I am unsure how pricing will be in stores and am only commenting based on the website’s pricing of 10.99 each approximately.

OVERALL IMPRESSION

I think that this is an amazing product to add to the Leap Frog line of toys and I am considering purchasing this for other kids in the family and would highly recommend it to others.

I also love that they have a carry bag for this product! So cute!
